The Beverly Hilton in Hollywood, California was the setting for the June 24, 1996 "Vision Awards". The event saw a record-breaking attendance of nearly 1000. The Beverly Hilton's International Ballroom was packed wall to wall with VIP's, corporate leaders, and celebrities gathered to salute the outstanding leadership and creativity of the 1996 Vision Award honorees. The 1996 Vision Award honorees were greeted by Dinner Chairman Barry London, Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures, under whose leadership the event was a smash success. With Master of Ceremonies Army Archerd, the support of a prestigious and dedicated dinner committee and music by Les Brown and his Band of Renown, the evening was a tour de force. London greeted the audience, saluting each of the honorees by name, and pledged his support to the fight against blindness and the development of access to TheatreVision, audio description of motion pictures for the blind. The 1997 Vision Awards with Dinner Chairman Warren Cowan was another resounding success honoring directors, producers, actors and executives in motion pictures and television who have exhibited outstanding "sight, foresight and insight" in the creative arts. The 1998 Vision Awards promises to break all records since it will also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of RP International and its Fight Against Blindness. Copyright © 1997-2001 RP International |
